Washington resident detained on multiple counts

Brad Bates was jailed July 9, 2014 on multiple counts, according to records.

A suspect involved in the July 9, 2014 Washington, Kansas police encounter has been identified as Brad Bates.

Details of the the encounter were first obtained by Kansas Crime on July 10, 2014 after having been published by the Saline County Sheriff's Office. Bates was detained and later charged on multiple counts, according to Kansas Crime's analysis of the official report.

At the time of the arrest, Mr. Bates was described as a black man, 5' 11" tall, 180 lbs, 39 years old, brown colored eyes, and black hair. Few additional details were recorded in the report.
